How it works for Estate Agents


How to log in to your Home Page:

  • Go to www.hipslibrary.co.uk and enter your Login name then click the Submit button or press Enter.
  • You are now looking at the public view of your HIP Library. Click on “Estate Agent ” – located at the top right-hand corner of the your banner. You will now see a password box has appeared. Enter the password for your Office and click the Submit buuton or press Enter.
  • You are now at the Home page for your Library and a toolbar has appeared on the left hand side of the screen.

How to use the Log :

  • The Home page shows you the record of the last 10 events that have taken place. On each entry you can see the date and time the event took place. If you click the Pack Provider's name in any of the event messages you can send an email to the person responsible for compiling this HIP.
  • If you want to look at older events click Logs on the toolbar on the left.

Viewing Live HIPs :

  • Click on the Live HIPs Button on the toolbar and you will see the list of Properties for which HIPs are currently being published in your Library and you can see how the HIP is coming along. Any document that is red is not yet ready. Any document that is green is ready to be published. You can click on the document to view it. The document will open with the Adobe Acrobat document reader program.
  • If you want to print the document press the print icon on the toolbar just above the document.
  • If you don't have the Adobe reader Program click "download Adobe Reader" at the bottom of the screen and you can download the program and it can be installed on your computer.
  • You will see in the box at the top of the list of documents a comments box that will contain any messages that have been posted there by the person responsible for preparing the Pack.

Dealing with Passwords for HIPs :

  • Each HIP has a unique password. When anyone wishes to view a HIP they have to enter its password first. There is a facility to automatically request a password. Pressing the request password button on the public sideof the site sends an automatic request to you. that request appears on the page that is accessed by pressing the Password Requests Button on the toolbar.

Ordering a HIP:

  • Click on the "Order a HIP" Button

How to view the progress of HIPs in preparation :

  • Click on the HIPs in Preparation Button on the toolbar. Then select the HIP you want to look at by clicking on the address. Any document that is red is not yet ready. Any document that is green is ready to be published. You can click on any green document to view it. The document will open with an Adobe Acrobat document reader.
  • If you want to print the document press the print icon on the toolbar that's above the document.
  • There is a comments box just above the list of documenst that you can leave a comment in . To do this type your comment in the box and then click the Save Changes to Comments Button that will have turned red as soon as you type something into the box. If you don't save the comment before leaving the page, your changes will be lost.
  • You can email the compiler of the HIP from this page by clicking on their email address just below the comments box.

Viewing Archived HIPs:

  • Click on the Archived HIPs Button. Here you will see a list of all the HIPs in the Library that have been moved to your Archive.
  • If you are sure that a HIP no longer needs to be kept on the site. Open it by clicking on the address and click the "Delete" HIP Button at the bottom
  • If you want to restore an Archived HIP back to Internet Publication. Open it and click the "Transfer HIP back to Live" Button. The HIP will then appear in your lsit of published HIPs on the Internet.

How to set up receiving email notification that an event has occurred:

  • If you click on the Settings Button on the toolbar you can see the various settings that apply to your HIP
  • If you click on any of the boxes to the left of the events that are listed a tick appears. The next time that event happens an email will be sent to the email address shown on this page advising that the event has occurred and the date and time. If you want to change the email address please send an email to the person responsible for preparing the HIP
  • If you click on a box with a tick in it, the tick will disappear and no more emails will be sent for that event.
